Things That I've Found Lately....

Flower Can

Theses guys are cute and are a better version of the flowers/herbs that you grow in a bag that I've seen in stores. You just open the top like a soda can and viola!

Birds

Yet another wall decal that i'm loving. I have not put much up on my very clean and freshly painted white walls. They just look so nice and bare, but these bird decals would be so pretty behind my bed I think. Fly away, fly away.

Floral Alure

RubieGreen is a site that sells upholstery fabrics and they are beautiful, but I really just love this headboard. This yellow floral fabric is so pretty and vibrant. I think I could make one of these. I've watched enough home design shows on HGTV to know how to construct your basic headboard.

Classy Babe

These business cards from Brooklyn Social Cards are so simple and classy. If I ever decide to make business cards I would go this route, I think. Yeah, classy, babe. Thats me.

Silk

Hello, textiles! These silk fabrics are so gorgeous and I'm sure they cost a fortune. They aren't just made by anybody, they are made by artisans. They would be so pretty as wall coverings or as a kimono style dress or pillows. I want, I want.

Ostrich Table, etc.

I like this table, because you walk into a room and you're like, 'woah, it's an ostrich table'. And then in that same room you turn and you see this and you're like, 'woah, its a telephone pole'. This is awesome.

Green Couch

Sometimes I kinda wish I would have looked a little bit harder for couches before purchasing mine. There's always something just a little bit better.
This place is having a sale.

I am a Minimalist

This Blueberry Cheesecake just looked so delicous and simple I had to post it so that I can remind myself to make it later. I will share it with you all.

Extra Space!

Yesterday, I removed my bedroom door from its hinges and reversed it so now the door swings out instead of in. This has given me an extra three feet of space now beside my bed in my narrow room. It's great.

A birthday Continued

Who invited this guy?
Tims party had a theme, was supposed to have a theme. I think Todd and I carried the trash theme all by ourselves.

Day Trip #2

Here is another one for the day trip list...Hyde Park in the Hudson Valley. Apparently there are excellent antique stores here, partly due to the fact that Europeans first settled here and made new furniture and brought their old furniture with them.

Sand Guy

This person must have known a good sand guy.

All Creatures Great and Small

I'm reading All Creatures Great and Small right now. It's about three country vets in the 1930s/40s and takes place in the Yorkshire Dales, of England. I found it on my bookshelf and decided to give it a read. It's living up to the favorable reputation it holds. I can't put it down. There are a lot of animal terms that i'm not familar with though, such as a horses withers, flank, and hock.
They also talk of the scenery and country side that surrounds them. It makes me want to take a little visit.

Country stuff

At first I thought that Country Cream was a little much with the overload of floral and pinks, but you'll actually find some really cute things here too.

Like this egg crate. But are you supposed to leave the eggs out at room temperature like this? Maybe if you live on a farm and they're fresh from the hen its ok. Sigh...dreams of Fodder Feeder Farm....
Did you know that a hen lays an egg every 24-36 hours?
This key rack is very cute, and could very easily be made yourself. I like all of the skeleton keys they have displayed here.
You can never have enough dolly pegs.
If only I had a compost heap. I could put it right behind my little backyard nook (see previous post).

Room Planner from House to Home UK

Oh this is awesome. Its a room planner. You can add doors, windows, furniture as well as all the correct dimensions of those doors, windows, and furniture. It even lets you add a cat or a dog to your layout!
Right now it won't let me save my room that I created, which is awesome. Once I figure it out, i'll post the pic.

Backyard

If I had a backyard I would want this to be in it. I'd have all of you, all nine of you over for tea and biscuits. Pic from House to Home UK.

Iris Gets Saved.

We had a great time this weekend in Elkins Park with Sarah, Dan, Quinn, Iris, Wintson, Sam, and Luner Eclipse. Winston waited for use to arrive. He was very happy to see me.
Sarah made cupcakes and I frosted them with the pipping thingie. That was fun.

Strawberrys, yum.
Iris chillin.
Getting saved is not as fun as it sounds, she was happy afterwards though.

San Janero

The bright lights of San Janero called to me on Friday while I waited for my ride.

There were cute little painted crabs too.

Faux Fire.

I know its like, what 80 degrees out now and you're not nessesarily thinking about warmth and fire, BUT what a great idea this is. No fireplace? No problem, just paint the thing on your wall and crank the heat up and listen to that fire crackle.

Bird Mobile.

So, I finally assembled my bird mobile last night. I've had the little birdies made for a while. Boopi and I made them together one Friday night while we drank wine in the sweltering heat. (Friday was supposed to become make-stuff-night after that, but it has not) He cut all the fabric pieces while I sewed most of them(he tried his hand at sewing one, it was a special birdie). Then there was an assembly line of stuffing, closing up the tails, and attaching a string to their backs so they would be able to fly far, far away. It was a fun project, I'd probably do it again. I also thought it would be cool to enlarge the pattern, make the birds out of black fabric and then use them as accent pillows or something weird to be placed on the bookcase.
I got the pattern from Spool, which is an awesome site.
Here are my slightly blurry pics.

Dutchtub

This is a Dutchtub. It is portable and it is awesome. You can take it camping with you, skiing, to the mountains, to a skatepark, on a boat, to the rooftop, to the beach, to a weird hippie fest, on an ice fishing trip. Anywhere. The possibilities are endless.
