Cake.

Raise your hand if you want a bite, or make it yourself.

Animal Ornaments.

This might be a little premature, but I saw these and think they are totally adorable. They'd look so pretty on a tree or even to use for a children's mobile.

Ikea.

Ikea Brooklyn, some are fans, some are not. I spent a fantastic five hours there yesterday. Thats right, FIVE hours. The day started with two 50cent hotdogs from the marketplace cafe area inside. The first was fantastic the second, not so great.

Bunnie and I went through the Ikea about 3 different times. Once by ourselves, then once when Tim got there, and finally once again when pookie got there. Afterwards we had a bite to eat at the cafeteria. The meatballs were tasty.

I did not end up not getting my mirror or bed (see previous post), but did get storage boxes, two lamp shades, and a set of cute nesting tables. I will get my mirror on the next trip.

-->Storage boxes over my closet. I'll place my Winter clothes in here in the Summer, and my Summer clothes in here in the Winter.

OMG. No but really, omg.

Hey look at this. The living room of this house pulls out like a dresser drawer. It's located in Germany and designed by architects Seifert Stoeckmann. Isn't that neat?

Hello and Goodbye.

Jess, remember when we were talking about rooftop garden/hangout with lots of umbrellas for shade and a greenhouse all that crazy jazz....? Well, these umbrellas are on sale.
Lets get about four or five of these puppies, some lounge chairs, and cocktails. Hello, outdoor- rooftop-skin-cancer-free-fun-zone!
Goodbye tan club.

Iron Chef BROOKLYN, bitches!

Saturday night was Iron Chef Brooklyn and the secret ingredient was Heirloom tomatoes. All participants made their dishes and brought them to my downstairs neighbors, Jess and Gerald's place. I made a Tomato bacon crustini with mustard Guinness sauce. Yum. My dish did not win, however the winning dish was fried green tomators topped with chipotle mayonnaise and salsa and it was goood.
Woowee, yee haw, light em up, doggies!

-->Hee. Hee. Hee.

The Hunt for Heirloom Tomatoes.

Saturday morning Susan, Jess, and I went into the Union Square Farmers market in search of heirloom tomatoes for Iron Chef Brooklyn. We failed to find heirlooms but did manage to find flowers, corn shoots, and baby goats.

Must Go Here.

GreatStuffByPaul is being placed on the Day-Trip list. Located in Frederick, Maryland, this store looks like a place where you can find a lot of stuff that you didn't even know you needed.

Bookcase #2

Here is yet another set of bookcases lined up behind the couch. Although im not sure I like how much space is left on the roomy shelves. What do you think?

Wallpaper

This wallpaper is really pretty. This is great for an accent wall like the wall that faces my cooking area. It'd look great behind the daybed.

Nothing to do with anything.

Just found this pic, taken in Woodstock, NY on one of our bi-annual camping-in-cabins trips. How cute. Pic taken by Pookie, probably.

Horse Images.

I love these two horse paintings in this room. I love how bare and simple the whole thing is and how they appear to be mirror images.

What is this? What is this?

How funny are these? I want them. Prints... get them here.

Wow.

I need this. Currently my shoes are scattered between two closets and they are always messy. Finding both pairs is sometimes difficult. What a great solution this is. Here is a very inexpensive bookcase that could be used in this way. Paint'er white, add a few more shelves, and you're on your way to having a bookshelf in your closet.

Black wall.

I love this black wall. I always wanted to do this in a room. I love that little side table too, though it's no 'low table' (pic. to come).

Think I can carry this?

I want this mirror. It's 66lbs. and huge. Do you think I can carry it from Ikea Brooklyn in Redhook onto public transportation to Williamsburg?
I also want this. I think the iron is so pretty and with a bunch of throw pillow lining the back it would look awesome and serve as an extra sitting / sleeping area.

Cute.

Isn't this adorable? And no, I am not talking about that sweet little house in the background with the old wrought iron fence surrounding a petite little yard that's located in Jim Thorpe, Pa. I'm talking about the matching Suomi shirt twins.

Saturday Flea Market in Pa.

After sleeping off the debauchery of Saturday night, we left the hotel and headed out of town to a sweet flea market that a local had tipped us off to. The market started at 7am but we didnt get there till noon so a lot of the vendors had left, but I did manage to score a sweet pair of blueblockers for a buck and 2 matching lamps for 5$ (picture of lamps to follow).

-->Blue Blockers

Pretty flowers.

The Lovely Scranton, Pa

So we took a little road trip this past weekend, which was a blast. The main reason of our excursion was to attend a wedding of two of our good friends in Scranton, Pa.
But first we hit the little town of Wind Gap, Pa on Friday night which turned into a very fun night filled with beer, Deitzies, and a hot tub. I'll spare you the photos of that, unless you really want to see them.

See the photos of from the very elegant wedding reception at the Tripp House in Scranton.

Bathroom Storage

I've got a pretty small bathroom with virtually no storage space. Even though I dont have a pedestal sink so this option would not work for me, I love this and think its pretty clever and cute.

Organize this.

I love this. Its so neat and clean and organized. If I had a home office I would for sure have a set up like this. Pockets for old Domino magazines that I refuse to throw out and clippings of all sorts would be my favorite features.

Bookcase

My living room has alot of space from wall to wall. When I sit on the couch and watch the tv that is on the other wall it feels too far away. I would love to place a row of bookcases behind the couch allowing me to bump my couch into the middle of the room for a closer cozier feel.

I love the curtain idea as well to hide the bookcase when it gets messy or cluttered.

Love it.

This Room Makes Me Happy

Remongoling

Last night I saw an awesome movie that inspired me to "remongol" my apartment. Mongol was the best movie I've seen in a while. Favorite things in this movie: neutral colors in the costumes, countryside scenery, beautiful people, braids, beards, horses.

Remongoling = soft muted earth-tones, mostly dirty whites and tans, avoiding flashy things and unnatural things such as black colors.

(I'll get in trouble if I dont credit Pookie for the term "remongoling". Thanks Pookie. Also, thanks for fixing my stupid blog.)

Blogging...I'm blogging...I'm really blogging!

First post! This is very exciting. Are you excited?

Well, you should be. This is going to be amazing and you will thank me for it.
