From Knitting to Sewing

I've decided to take a little break from knitting (I've been knitting constantly for like over two months now), and in exchange dust off the old sewing machine. Yeah, it's good to switch it up from time to time. And this jumper was the result of that switch. I used a very light-weight black gingham fabric and added a taupe lining to the jumper. It was totally rewarding to sit at my little sewing machine and use it to make a piece of clothing, and all in one sitting. I felt like my grandma.
I think there are many more creations ahead...

Busy with Wren

I have been quite busy with a new project and have been neglectful of prettybirdblog. So sad, but I'm sure you all understand. I've been putting some new ideas i've had into action and finally started an Etsy store. It's something i've been wanting to do for a while but haven't had the time or energy, but Yey! Hark! bitter cold Winter is here and I don't want to go outside so free time abounds. I've continued making the little dresses similar to the one that I posted previously. I've been inspired by little people and i'm having alot of fun making these guys. My store is called Wren, like the bird. Here's the link, www.wrenstore.etsy.com. Thanks for looking!

Bird ceiling

For those of you that know me personally, you know that I have a pretty deep love of birds. So when I saw this, I about died (thats so dramatic). This ceiling is so beautiful, and what an entryway to walk into. I wish I could see it in person. One day when I have a ceiling that I can call my own I would like to do this or a variation on this. I think vibrant color copies against the back drop of a black ceiling would be striking or it might be interesting to arrange the pictures in a pattern of some sort.

A space in my space

I need a working space like this, complete with metal shelving for supplies and a bulletin board for posting inspirational swatches, magazine pages, and illustrations. Such a tidy space, too.
